'Splash' - Inspired by 'Lakhota' by Doug Broadhurst

entry picture

Escaping from white walls: A fruitburst splash

Invading the eye through time's telescope

From a long lost summer

A worn spine teeters in dim waning light;

Streaks of personal symbology enclose

A kind of eye in endless invitation;

A squirm of sprawling red on sallow grey,

A spurt of art on fifties regulations

What joyous moment made you?

What bedsit inspiration in racist,

Cobble-bound Stockport

Led to your fashioning?

Even after half a century, I still feel it.
