Black Friday Stampede

Avaricious nation, I want no association,
There's starving people, your being sheeple,
What's up with you UK?
No need for the greed, it's a planted seed,
Leave the telly's, feed the belly's,
What's up with you UK?
All for a saver, it's a poverty waver,
Feed mankind, not pockets lined,
What's up with you UK?
All for the sake, a Merry Christmas to make,
Yet you play along, you've got it so wrong,
What's up with you UK?
Life's about caring, not what your wearing,
Or material stuff, I've said enough,
What's up with you UK?
You all know what's up!!!
Hear my rant,
you all live. with IGNORANCE AND WANT!!!

nice one tina, reflects my views on the stampede too. the aftermath im sure would have been hundreds of people with moderately priced end of line electrical goods!! i have a similar poem on a similar subject. daz

Having seen the TV clips of the shop mobs - I go
along with the sentiment in the targeted sense.
Humanity in crowds can be uplifting but the beast
is often in the anonymity provided by numbers
when tempers fray.

Bang on Tina. I watched footage of the black Friday sales on the news tonight; it was horrifying to see people (women especially) brawling over TV sets. Anyone with a conscience and sense of reality ought to be well and truly ashamed - but I guess they don't and they're not. Consumerism at its greedy and selfish brainwashed worst. Well said.

Regards,

A.E.

Thank you for your comment M.C, I just got angry at the way people where ripping items out of each others hands, and pushing others to the floor. It made my heart heavy x

I surprised myself by enjoying the "hip-hop"
style of the sentiments expressed - and the
content will always carry weight. However, there
is no country with as comprehensive a range of
charitable organisations as can be found in the UK
- and the phrase "compassion fatigue" can come to mind on occasions when out in the real world.
Even the bible posed the question "Am I my
brother's keeper?".
Stimulating stuff!

Tina-soooooo rantingly clever! And count me in with-the guilty as charged.

Every word rings true, and needs to stick in our 'grabbing claws and scoffing jaws'
