FOOT IN MOUTH

The summer is barely over

And here we go again.

The gum-chewers and their gangs return

Putting "pro" into profane.

Shouting this - waving that,

Too busy with their hands

That if they're not too careful

They'll end up in the stands.

Out on the freshly mown grass

Over paid prima-donnas

Remembering their acting skills

Crash to the turf like goners.

Fans look on in disbelief

Poor from the cost of a ticket,

Wondering why they "sub"  this grief

When it's cheaper to watch cricket!

This is delightful! But I love football :) Diving adds to the drama :0

Just when you thought you had enough 'diving' at the Commonwealth Games!
A great take on the impending football season.

Thanks for your kind words on 'Beach Fight'.
Maybe it was the wrong type of sand for the Health and Safety Executive.

They say football is played for 90 minutes by players pretending they're hurt while rugby is played for 80 minutes by players pretending they're not.

The gum chewing reminds me of Sir Alex Ferguson watching intently, flanked with coaches each side.
Overpaid prima-donnas, well they are countless. (maybe not all with acting skills)
Really enjoyed reading this! :)
