A CHILDS EYE

A CHILDS EYE

Imagine a world of love and laughter
Of fun filled days and freedom till after
The tea time call or the playtime bell
Get back into line or you'll catch some hell

Imagine a world of wildness and wonder, of fun and jest
Of questions and answers and adventurous quest
When time was your own and life was a whim
To walk, to run through grass so long, to swim

Imagine a world with clouds upon high
To lie on your back in the grass and sigh
At shapes and forms floating, drifting on the breeze
And the dreamy shapes, moving excited young minds with ease

Imagine a world where the fun didn't end
With the setting sun, goodnight my friend
See you tomorrow come hail, sleet or rain
Dreams of cold snow but no worry or pain

Imagine a world through the eyes of a child
A world without borders, running happy and wild
The long summer days and cold winter nights
A world of security, warm smiles and toy fights

Imagine a world where we lived as a child
Exploring and playing, by beauty, beguiled
Of cuddles from Mum and pennies from Dad
Of sweetshops and sharing the bits that we had

Imagine a world, within you and me
Buried down deep, let it loose, set it free
Be the child once more, gaze around you and smile
Search beneath the worries, the hatred and long miles

Lift the cover of life, look behind all the tears
Remember how it was before all the fears
Look deep within, close your eyes, free your mind
Recover the goodness that we've all left behind

It was there once before it could be there once again
We must want it so badly till it's all that remains
Bring it back from the brink, show the love that you feel
Share in the warmth and feel your world heal

Find your lost child, hold into it's hand
Lead it to love and wondrous lands
Imagine a world through eyes without strife
Remember the feelings, the love and the life.
