Spring

entry picture

Spring arrives and blossoms burst

As green shoots sprout and quench their thirst

On sunshine from the sky up high

A joy to see and breathe a sigh

Be-petalled stars, beads of dew

Nature’s gift is flourished anew

From winter’s dearth, a colour explosion

Emerging buds nurtured with fruitful devotion

High in the branches filled with birdsong

Laden with food for their nestling throng

The chaffinches fluttering back and forth

Feeding their offspring, inflating their growth

Snowdrops and bluebells from woodlands surge

Pollinate then fertilize a primaeval urge

Meadowland sated with grasses so long

Sway to the tune of Mother Nature’s song

Scentual overload infuses the air

Awestruck we are greeted by Chloris’s fare.
