Victory at Christmas - (December 2012 Collage Poem)

entry picture

Shimmering words slide across sea-shells;

Franglais babies reach out to the world -

Poetry translates from pole to pole,

Beautiful in any language.

Nigel’s naked naughtiness

And still we ask “Why?”

Down the generations, -

Fatherless shaped spaces.

Today has been a really good day

Crushed into a cattle-truck;

While ghosts await visitors,

Evil masters come out at night to play.

Thank you for your good wishes after my recent accident. After spending a lot of time in hospital over the last few weeks, my thoughts turned to this poem by Charles Causley "Ten Types of Hospital Visitor" enjoy!

I'll be back soon I hope. All good wishes for a Happy New Year.

What a great meeting we had last night! - I think this must be one of the very best collage poems we've done.

And now... the following really is sincerely meant:

"I have to say, for it is true:
I thank God for each one of you"

Have a lovely, lovely Christmas and a happy new year........and here's to the next twelve months - and more - of Stockport Write Out Loud!

Love from Dorinda
