I would like to thank everyone here for the comments. They really inspire me to write haiku. I found it to be so interesting and exciting. With warmest wishes, Larisa

A tight piece of writing and despite its american origins I prefer 'ass' in your haiku to 'arse' as the vowel sound is short echoing 'Past' in the previous verse ( to my northern ear anyway)
I enjoyed it. XX

Neat...and good advice too!

The past has you in its grip

Today is the first day of the rest of your life. I had a t-shirt with this on it back in the 70's. Great poem! Take care, Tony.
