Lack of information is obscene and cronic

Lack of information is obscene and cronic,
Holds you back like the bars of a prison that are socio-economic,
When all you know is what Fiona Bruce told you so
Why would you worry about GMOs from Monsanto?
In schools we're taught no sense of identity,
Like a man running for office, no personality,
Because they know if we had any sense of who we are,
There's no way in hell we'd let them take it this far.

There's politicians that'll let you they can change it for within,
But even with the best of intentions when you enter that world it gets under your skin,
The arostocracies and plutocracies have all the power,
And in the face of that the lone do-gooder is useless,
Like a Fukushima plant, it's fruitless.
And that's why I say by ballot or bullet,
We've got to find a way.

I jerk off on poetry it gives life to words,
Sticking ideas together that you usually never heard,
Revolution can not be taught or given,
It's found woven within people like a Pagian religion.

Racism's just ignorance dressed up as truth,
Like a Stella in the hand of an untamed youth.
You give you bullshit opinions as though they were truth,
Like the Illuminati hand up the mainstream news.
You have more in common with the asian families across town,
Than you do with the 1 per cent of white men bringing us all down,
Learn something about divide and conquer tactics,
Or else we're all fucked.

I get on the metro,
It's packed like a slave ship,
But the unseen overseer doesn't need a whip,
Cos that's how slavery works, you take the chains away,
But it seems people still can't see the light of day.
It's like Shaun of the Dead out there.
I watch zombie proletarians walk past,
And I can see they need change that will last,
But where's it coming from like a pirate radio mast,
We need to act fast before our chance is past.

I jerk off on poetry it gives life to words,
Sticking ideas together that you usually never heard,
Revolution can not be taught or given,
It's found woven within people like a Pagian religion.
One revolution, you're back to the start,
From freedom to freedom, it's only found in the heart.

Thanks for the feedback :) I only started writing a few weeks ago.

I'm against violent uprisings, they only end in a violent system and it just means the person with the most guns wins. But I think some sort of profound change in people's perceptions of the way goverments and big businesses run would be a good start!

Hi Wez
I think what you've written is brilliant.

But please postpone the Western spring till I'm dead and gone, I wouldn't wish to inhabit a world where it's going take another five hundred years while you fill the vacuum with a society, which would no doubt eventually, mirror the one we live in today.

Upheaval of the system on a scale you have in mind will create just as much misery and injustice,(probably more) than we enjoy at the present. We're still evolving! there'll be no peace until, in maybe a thousand years, when religion is a past superstition. And we live in a United States of the World.

Great stuff though. KED.
