conquer yourself rather than the world
Conquer your self rather than the world!
I am taking back this body which belonged to me at birth.
Cementing what I know and my self worth
from those who caused me harm
and made my heart bleed
I need nothing but the love inside of me
to be set free from its cage
of inhibition and mirrors of other peoples lives
but still my hope survives within
they try to make me concede my defeat
but I wont retreat
I am who I want to be
and I am taking back me!

Hi Daniel
I really like the words that you've used in this poem, like concede and cementing. They seem to portray exactly what you are feeling.
I think that to a degree we have all been conditioned over the years and it takes courage to be your true self, and not someone who you think others will like, but to simply be.
