how do you define insanity

How do you define insanity?

Insanity for me is having voices

none of which are my own.

Being in a crowd but still feeling alone

the shattering of personality the breaking of form

nothing but the norm in an everyday world,

sanity on the flipside is about living without regret

but who can say they really are free of that regret

but do they let it ruin their lives?

Like a guilt ridden victim of circumstances that we despise

NO!

They don’t let it ruin their lives

So why do I?

Insanity is not easy to explain it has common symptoms

But they do not stay the same

Insanity is not always about pain

It can be a feeling of mania

Being so happy and free

But being so out of control constantly

That you cannot, eat, sleep, or think.

like being drunk without the drink

or being high without the drugs

while your mind is chugging away

it can make you be creative

you can create something outstandingly good

but it can make you spend more money than you should

insanity cannot be defined in textbooks

in writing of those who have seen or experienced it.

it is an individual thing related one person.

common symptoms there maybe

but we all see through a glass darkly.

I like this poem. As for the question, I dont know. If hearing voices is bad, well count me in. If seeing things is bad, count me in. I agree that in some casees you cant define it.Im against violence, however if pushed and hurt, Ill strike back if possible. It could be that those of us that have heard voices, and seen things others cant, well we just may be special and right, and the others blind. take care.
