Summer Seasons

In July we had April weather,

I guess that was no surprise.

Should we have seen it coming?

When in April we had July’s!

We had the hottest Easter,

With wall to wall sunshine.

But now we’re into August,

We’re paying down the line.

Warm days but in the evenings,

The temperature’s nose dived.

Are the seasons still reversed?

Or is it that autumn’s arrived?

Guilty as charged, John! But as it was 28 degrees, I did indeed cast my clout!

Thanks Chris, maybe I should change the title to English seasons.

A quintessentially English poem.
