Qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm [The World As I See It]

entry picture

qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm is not allowed,

qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm enjoy cheap thrills,

qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm, I’m well-endowed,

qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm, a bottle of Pils,

qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm, upon my knees,

qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm, the seven seas.

qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm, my boots did shine,

qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm the milky way,

qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm along a line

qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm on Galway Bay:

qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm asked her to dance?

qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm, she looked askance.

qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm; was in dismay

qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm dimissed my plea:

qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm I’d had my say,

qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm yes, she did play:

qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm and so she sought

qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm and then I thought:

qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm I tell a lie,

qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm expensive food,

qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm most costly buy,

qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm a deadly flood;

qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnmy my measure fills,

qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm some idiot spills.

Helene, your observations touched me greatly, and I've forwarded them to her daddy. Thank you so much.

Your granddaughter's drawing of the Earth is spectacular! I really liked the drawing when I first saw it. Now that I know the little artist was drawing the Earth, I like it even more. Blue and green colors of the turning orb, warmed by the yellow light of the far away sun.

Whilst I was slaving away at this, my latest oeuvre, some patronising git at Co-Pilot who fancies themselves as a poet, told me to re-write it to make it more "concise" or something, for my readers.
My answer to that is a vague: 'something-off!'.

Hélène, John.
That’s true, by the way, about my borrowing the rhyme scheme from Wordsworth; he’s told me to keep it, as he no longer has any need for it.
I took my poem for an inaugural reading at my local pub’s arts club the other day. They were mightily impressed. Little did they know that all these years, whilst thinking that I'd been talking complete cobblers, they’d actually been listening to a man of letters, inspired by the spirits, 'in vino veritas', as it were.

Should go down well in performance.

Thank you Hélène.
I borrowed the rhyme scheme from one William Wordsworth.
Free beer tomorrow is the prize for the person who deciphers it.😉
It’s the Earth! Our granddaughter drew it, having suddenly developed an interest in things planetary when her dad got her a telescope….I think she’s got over that now. She’s concentrating on being top in her class at reading; oh, and at being spoiled rotten!😍

A wild poem, a challenge to decipher. Fun! I like it. Who did the art work?
