Alba Play Diaries.... School Pick Up
Silly Granddad was a daft horsey today.
To The Turnpike Tavern, we made our way.
He galloped too fast and trotted too slow.
He didn’t even know which way to go!
Granddad’s long scarf became my reins.
We sang songs made up of funny names!
The horsey was unsteady on the slippy ice.
He nearly toppled over, not once but twice!
Then this dopey horsey got stuck in the mud.
Knowing silly Granddad, I knew he would!
Then finally at The Turnpike, on table 3
Me and my Granddad, we ordered our tea!
I asked for sweetcorn, fish fingers and fries.
Granddad wanted straw… that’s no surprise!
‘Sorry, we don’t sell straw’ I heard them say.
‘No problem’ said Granddad ‘I’ll just have hay’
( I love picking up my 4 year old Granddaughter from school, I do it on foot, never by car, just fresh air and play!)
