Self Discovery

 

Welcome to the real me

for I have made a discovery

From beneath the veneer of conformity

I have realised my true identity

The old self of endless falsehood

has been transformed into a new personhood

I have come to accept my own ecstasy

where I acknowledge my predilictions and some fantasy

A new person has emerged for all to see

and there are some who don't like the new me

They see wild eccentricity

with the power and force of generated electricity

My appearance and habits have changed

with a greater acceptance of what I like to arrange

My beard has grown and is very unkempt

along with a different temprament

My demeanour and dress have altered

to someone no longer harassed and battered

I smoke my pipe and happily day dream

and think new thoughts to see what they mean

I eat and drink what pleases me

and some old friends don't like what they see

Some have turned their backs on me

but I am determined to stay as the new me

I have taken to change my appearance

and wear clothes which attract a different glance

This has been a liberating experience

which has placed me at some variance

Frankly I don't care what others may think

because I have found a new kink

I am for the first time the man I choose to be

so welcome to the new me
