No Note Nor Nowt

No note nor nowt

‘E come ‘ome

She were gone

And she’d tekken ‘er coat

What the hell’s

Goin’ on

There were no note nor nowt

There were no note nor nowt

No note nor nowt

‘E come ‘ome she were gone

Leaving no note nor nowt

Up the stairs

She weren’t there

And her wardrobe was bare

Not a stitch left to wear

Not a jumper or owt

Not a thong

Left to don

Somethings wrong

She were gone

Leaving no note nor nowt

There were no note nor nowt

No note nor nowt

‘E come ‘ome she were gone

Leaving no note nor nowt

They had rowed

He’d got loud

He’s not proud

But she gets his goat

Just a push

T’ mek her hush

His conduct is rote

Now she’s left

Him bereft

Leaving no note nor nowt

There were no note nor nowt

No note nor nowt

‘E come ‘ome she were gone

Leaving no note nor nowt

Thanks again John. I'll do this one if you think it stands up.
Thanks too Mark. You can go west from where we are, but that would put us on the wrong side of the Pennines.

Just noticed another deleted user (Leon I think), always sad to see another drop off.

I recall it used to be said that something broken beyond recall
had "Gone West". But since there's not much in that direction
up north, then maybe she was sensible and has "Gone South"?! 😉.

Slugs and llamas would be good, Kevin.
It would be a shame if you didn’t do this one. I think it’s stands apart from being either one of your Grimston Low cartoons or your serious observations on life.

Thanks John.
I don't know if I'm going to do this one, or recycle one of my oldies.
I might do eleven minutes of slugs and llamas.

Happy new year.
See you in January all being well.

Thanks Keith and Leon for your comments on this piece, and for your encouragement throughout the year.
I know it's cliché to say it, but it really does mean so much.
I hope you too had a great Christmas, and I wish you and everyone on this site a happy new year.

I'm in total agreement with all that Keith has written.

All the very best Kevin to you and yours.

Kevin,
I knew you would not let us down this Christmas. Another gem. Merry Christmas to you and all your family especially those with nowt.
Thank you for this and all your other brilliant poems
Keith
