Don't Forget

entry picture

The unknown soldier beckons

Don't forget, don't forget

The lost, who somewhere lie

Don't forget, don't forget

The grieving family ties

Don't forget, don't forget

The defeated & the broken

Don't forget, don't forget

with mental scars unspoken

Don't forget, don't forget

The veteran in the street

Don't forget, don't forget

beneath his cardboard sheets

Don't forget, don't forget

And you & I, still breathing

Don't forget, don't forget

This free air from the bleeding

Don't forget, don't forget, don't forget

11th November

Time itself may fray

But, this will always be

Their Day

Timely indeed. The repeated rhythm of the line "Don't forget,
don't forget" works well.
