To A Friend To Be Forgotten

I'm not going to tell you that I'm breaking apart.
I'm not going to show you where you've broken my heart.

Why am I always being risked by other people?
Shot down in flames from a safe distance.

I'm not going to let you back to work from inside.
I'm not going to be there, when you realise why.

I'm not going to see you when I see you around.
I'm not going to hear your sounds.

Why is it me they want to deal with the pain?
Don't I deserve some space?

I'm not going to let you back to work from inside.
I'm not going to be there when you realise.

Powerful and emotive, Aviva.

Thank you for commenting Nazia and Ghazala ?

This poem was like a confirmation and affirmation to myself of my intentions, but of course I never really have forgotten this friend, neither the friendship we had beforehand, nor the manner of ending. It isn't something I think about often, but it's not something I can forget either.

Top Tip: If you're going to try and forget someone don't write a powerful poem or a catchy song about them. (wait and see)

It's always difficult to delve into a poet's thought. I wish I could. Well expressed?

So this poem implies your friend you don't want to deal with.

I'd like to state, just for the record, that 'The Wonder Tree' and 'To A Friend To Be Forgotten' are not about the same friendship.

Also, whereas I did show 'The Wonder Tree' to the friend it was written about, I have never shown 'To A Friend To Be Forgotten' to the person it was about.
