VACCINATION BLUES

entry picture

Based on "Hesitation Blues", a song of disputed origin but made famous initially by the Reverend Gary Davis.

I’m drawing Old Age Pension

I’m over sixty eight

Can’t cope with all this tension

I’m waiting for my date

How long do I have to wait?

When’s my Covid jab a-coming?

How long till I vaccinate?

The Government require us

To stay at home alone

I’m sick of Covid virus

I’ve put on half a stone

How long……

And when I have my mask on

Wearing glasses sucks

The girls are disappointed

They can’t see my good looks

How long…..

I’ll take me turn in queueing

I’ll take my turn in line

But why have they had you in

When I’m nearly sixty nine

How long…..

I wrote this verse in rhythm

I wrote this verse in rhyme

I’d sing another chorus

But I haven’t got the time.

Thanks, Aviva and Stephen. As I mentioned below, I confess I had it last weekend. Very easy, very efficient and safe.
And thanks for the Like, Roni.

I've had my jab today - only 15 mins in queue too.

I agree with M.C

Good entertainment, John. Deduct one year and it's my situation. Grin and bear it, they say. Bear what, I'm not really sure.

Not familiar with the original - but this is another good 'un.
Bluesy pleasure
From a treasure
chest we can enjoy
There's no way to measure
The price for all the pleasure
JC can be relied on to employ. ?

Many thanks for the Likes, Aviva, Holden and Scattered Sun. (I have to confess I have already had the jab).
