February 2021 College poem: Grazed by Sorrow

entry picture

Velvet sabotaged nursey rhymes mired in melancholy
Life ends; dawn comes.

In Whaley Bridge the dam burst, screams heard, as a couple ran with hell in their wake and fire in their hair
Full-boned breakfast tastes salacious to the robots
Robin looked East while Mole burrowed up for a swift one in Stalybridge Station Bar.

Robots trying on clothes in topshop
Before hitching a ride to join Nigel Stalybridge Station Bar
The universe is a bad house party and someone in the mirror keeps glaring at me.

I’m running off with the robots.

Velvet saboteurs pound the planet in a midnight conspiracy.

Going home in the snow with the tiny stars glowing like small streets lights
Garage flour tints the blazing sky on our hill of hate
A white Christmas where Christmas is missing - just a perpetual new years day
The rosary beads are broken
The epic needs length to be chopped.

The English Bastille could have been Stockport Station, but the Revolution ended at Whaley Bridge.

Limited life span body parts
humans using robot arms write
robots with human brains
become underground poets overnight.
