Wanting True Love

When my lips caress your body.

My intention is to caress your heart.

I can release your sexual tension.

But I have wanted more,  right from the start.

I want you to forever love me.

Unfortunately,  when it comes to love,  I am not too smart.

And I think that love,  is sex.

And have made giving sexual release,  an art.

Sexual partners can be plenty.

But they all love me for playing the part.

Of the friend,  "with benifits" or "secret lover".

But this is not the love that I seek.

I want,  True Love.

I want to caress your heart.

I have learnt you can have sex with anyone its easy , man or woman . But to love someone is a completely different ball game . Love hurts sex is just sex .

This has a Leonard Cohen confessional feel to it. Love it! Thanks for sharing JD. Write on! ?

JD.,

This poem speaks volumes to those who confuse love with sex. Today's age is responsible for advancing them both as being synonymous. Yet this poem offers hope as the writer has reached a place of discernment and come to appreciate the difference and expresses the hope for a love that will grow and not be diminished by transitory sex.

A poem with words of wisdom
Thank you for this
Keith
