A chip off the old block

My name is JD.

I am of my fathers seed.

If you knew the man.

You would agree he was a special breed.

Because of him.

I grew to be a man with great speed.

When I am cut, it is his blood that I bleed.

When times were good,  Father was in the lead.

When times were bad,  it was Father that I need.

If I wanted something,  he helped with little greed.

Fathers advice was wise,  his words you would heed.

Father was a controling man,  his desires,  you had to feed.

Until I became my own man,  and I was freed.

I praise him now,  but he was not always doing a good deed.

To much like him I am,  I must concede.

After all, I am of my fathers seed.
