Christmas Ornaments

We store these ornaments carefully

so hopefully they will last

and bring back precious memories

of Christmases in the past,

Little trinkets become treasures

on our tree so proudly hung

reminders of our history

when our family was young

Christmas ornaments are tokens

of who we used to be

so many years of happiness

displayed upon our tree,

For in these special ornaments

is the accumulation of our years

and seeing them again returns

those days we hold so dear

When our children were just little

the excitement and the play

all remembered in these ornaments

displayed on Christmas Day,

These special family ornaments

to our hearts a softness brings

they represent our family

what Christmas really means.

Spot on! I recall the long-ago gift of some beautiful examples of these items from the American (Louisiana) branch of our family -
my eldest sister having gone Stateside to marry WW2 army officer
Bill Blanchard Jr and remained there to bring up a family of ten.
Well done dk for this perfect reminder of how precious memories
can be preserved in these brilliant baubles.
