We Get It!

We Get It!

We get it

It’s dangerous

Lethal, I think they said

We hide indoors

Obey the laws

It’s better than being dead

We get it

But it won’t harm

Getting a hug or two

It’s Christmas after all

And deserved

After what we’ve all been through

We get it

The vaccine’s near

So we’ll all end up being alright

A kiss

Under the mistletoe

Is an acceptable custom – right?

We get it

No more than six allowed

Don’t worry about a sniffle or sneeze

A winter cold

Doesn’t necessarily mean

Uncle Bob has got the disease

We get it

Only five days mixing

And then it’s back to the tier

But an extra day

Won’t matter will it

To have a bit of cheer at new year

We get it

Yes you’ve told us

It’s really becoming a bore

We’re not bloody children Boris

We can make our own minds up

Because that’s what minds are for

We get it

But I don’t know anyone

Who’s been ill with Covid-19

So I’ll just ignore

Like I’ve done before

No need to create a scene

We Get It

We Get It

We

Get

It

I don’t want it.
Here’s a sobering thought: Research shows a man my age (albeit not a superman like me) is 90 times more likely to die of it than a 30 year-old. My in-laws are 630 times more likely to die.
I don’t want it.

Very nicely done, Ian. I think you've caught a mood ... a lot of people seem very apprehensive about Christmas this year.
