Beethoven

Beethoven's music I surely adore.
Tis something I must come back to for more.
He comforts my heart when I am by myself,
And reaches my soul more than anything else.

In his music he shares each part of his life.
He gives us strength where before there was strife.
He shows triumph of spirit over adversity
In each sonata, concerto and in every symphony.

He expresses anger and sadness but there's also hope,
So in our darkest of times we know we can cope.
He surely loved nature, but also mankind.
In his music our feelings are clearly defined.

He changed Classical era into Romance.
He wrote for the world so we all have a chance.
He was proud and irascible but one thing is clear,
He still could compose after ceasing to hear.

His music all lives though his life is now through.
It is loved by many, and the notes still ring true.
So one must see no one's ever come closer
Than Beethoven, surely the greatest composer

My first exposure to the old Ludwig Van was in Clockwork Orange. Perfect symbiosis of visual action and soundtrack.

Stuart,

This poem explores the personality of the composer and throws light on how it influenced his music. It is well rhymed and beautifully written. I too am a great fan of Beethoven.

Thank you for this

Once again, this is an updated version of a poem on Beethoven, which I have written before. There are more verses and some alterations.
