Buzz number six on the intercom

With a smile and open arms, waiting for me.
Your home was my escape, my favourite place
It was the very place that I knew I was safe
It was there I went, when I had a hard day at school

Just because it’s your birthday, I don’t think of you any more
Than how much I thought of you, every day before
Just because, it’s Mother’s Day, it doesn’t make a single change
To how much I miss you, the heartache or the pain
Just because I reminisce, it doesn’t make it okay
That you’re not here in physical form, right here with us today
