I have a rendezvous with a dandelion
in an enchanted garden of life.
It had me smitten by the sparkling stars in its fuzz,
the faded colours echoing with a solitary buzz.

Exquisite in shape, vibrant in face,
yet restless at heart and frenzied to the core
fraught with excruciating pain,
drained of all vigour, yet it doesn’t complain.

An engulfing silence on a quiet day

Brings rage to the calm blue ocean.

Thunder, thunder, serenity at bay.

In my garden, dozens of trees bend, sway,

and survive in a whirling motion.

 

A small, fragile tree, scared in an abyss of nothingness, swirling with dismay,

Cracking, crying, tearing at the roots,

The moment it knows it won't survive,

The grotesque skull under my bed,
