Red Clay
My dreams have been strange
Leaping rivers give way to slick clay- red and thick
I wash and wash until I melt away
In that house, I wander, opening new doors and exploring rooms
Rooms stacked high with towers of books
My bed rest high above my head
Balanced on the book towers, so I climb
Reaching the top my bed is gone
It doesn't matter, I'm not tired
I leap cloud to c...

The House
It's a house of many rooms
When it first appeared it was haunted
Ripped curtains, torn upholstery, and filth
The house only had a few rooms open, the others with doors locked solid
I drove the ghosts out, even as they claimed to be family
Nightmares never last
A childhood holdover to refuse creepy dreams
Semblance of Lucidity
I know when I am Dreaming... sometimes
The h...

Tents in the Desert
The pounding of the rain woke me
As sure as coffee
It woke me
I dreamt of crashing waves that night
Howling winds of desert sands, thirsty for nature's elixir
I dreamt of tents cast in bronze and raw silk
The howling winds straining at the ropes
The smell of rain on dry sand
The clouds racing the moon
The pounding of the rain on the window woke me
Starting me fr...

Eternal Field
I one time dreamed a dream wherein I walked within an open field,
where every step a memory was, and every breath was poignant filled.
I saw each day I ever lived, they all bled slowly into one.
Each opportunity to give now stood a moment left undone.
I saw each thing I ever owned and tried so hard to justify,
but every effort woeful fell and I was left to wonder why.

Midnight
Can you grasp a piece of midnight,
from the furthest reach of the sky,
when it seems nothing has gone right
and there’s no reason why?
Can you see yourself from the shadows,
in the place you’ve been hiding there,
then come to grips with who you are
and finally breathe the air?
For birds believe they’re born to fly.,
each seed knows it will grow.
So likewise...

What Comes Of Dreams
Oh, why so many dreams bestowed
in young and tender years,
fall into drifting dust decay
then sadly disappear.
Are dreams to blame for broken hearts
and quiet hour’s remorse?
Or is the dreamer born of guilt
for veering from its course?
Are dreams unfair for rising up
to skies in brilliant hue?
Perhaps they take no time for thought
and ask too much to d...

Our Journey
Let's escape our separate towns together,
Away from prying eyes,
Where no one knows our faces yet,
And our love needs no disguise.
Let's camp out in the world together,
And I'll hold you through the night,
With your head upon my shoulder,
We sit watching stars burn bright.
We'll laugh and smile discussing hopes and dreams,
And make known all of our desires,
We'l...
