Thanks muchly, Stephen, for taking the time to read and comment on Care. Have tinkered with it a bit now. The industry is a real disgrace eh? It needs nationalising, now.

Beautiful poems Stephen. I particularly enjoy 'Memory Tax' —it is honest and witty but also a little dark— a bit 'Dark Mirror' esque. Well done on all your publications. 😃

Embattlements, thank you kindly for your comments Stephen.
I wonder what surprises world politics has yet to come up with?

Many thanks, Greg. The New European is a really admirable newspaper, with so many impressive and enlightened writers. It is quite humbling to be selected for publication. Your kind words are much appreciated. Steve

Conniption is an old term
remembered fondly by old men like me
whose mothers always used to tell them
"don't have a Conniption Fit!"

Re "Planning her Escape"
I have a separate piece done with the woman alone in the bedroom.
I'm still pondering.

I don't know what it is about you

It could be the fact that
you always think my poems are brilliant!

I really appreciate your kind words. It's part of a series called, rather pretentiously, 'Poems of time and place'. I'll put some more on the profile.
Not a catholic, even part-time. I did once have a mitre. It was a football signed by Bobby Moore.
More power to your pen.

I don't usually read poets or poetry.
I'm just different that way.
But I read this and was impressed.
Each time he climbed another mountain peak,
He took a slice home as a souvenir;
Nothing too big, just a vanishing scrape.
One day, on cue, he heard the mountain speak,
And through dawn’s modest light, it shed a tear
At such a violation of its shape.
This act would likely finish his career.

Thanks Charley Bishop-
are you Catholic?
Do you have a Mitre?

I used it first. It must be catching. Oh no, don't say that...
Good word, though, and good poem.

You used the same term, "Atmospheric"
that the other guy used.
Is this a new thing?
Is it caused by Global Warming?
As I think about it,
My pressure is rising.
Thu 24th Sep 2020 18:48
I thoroughly enjoyed this thank you. 😄
Thu 24th Sep 2020 16:47

Who knows? He may become Matt Hancock next time. OK, maybe not.
All the best

Paul Sayer is even in here.
He is everywhere.
I think he may be an anarchist
trying to infiltrate each site for devious purposes.
He even changed his name to disguise his real identity.
I think he may be a double agent poet.
Tue 28th Jul 2020 18:12
My pleasure. I remember we got one in a plastic bag of water from a fair at Blackheath. I don't know how my Dad kept it alive on the Green Line Bus.
Tue 28th Jul 2020 03:09
thanks for your comment on "Goldfish".
hasn't every kid had one?
and then one that died?
Thu 9th Jul 2020 03:54
Thanks for reading
"Retrieving the Morning Paper".
It was a fun poem for me to write.
I hope you had fun reading it.
Sun 5th Jul 2020 14:11
Not at all, Abdul, although I think your poem is much more profound than my comment (which is just how it should be, of course).
Sat 4th Jul 2020 16:56
Your recent comments on my poem "Well planned return" inspired me to wtite "Monkeys filled the vacuum".
I hope you don't mind me including ideas from your comments.
