Thanks so much, Nicola! The atmosphere at the last WOL sounds slightly heady, or rather appealing, or perhaps not so at all! God bless our male WOL friends!
You are such a love...thanks again..............Dorinda x

Hi Dorinda,

I hope you feel better soon.

You and all other female WOLs were missed, it was a testosterone filled room!

Next month's theme is "waves". We discussed many types of waves, not limited to nautical but energy waves, spiritual waves, the characteristics of waves etc.

Hope to see you at the December meeting. Keep warm ?

Done Us Proud

Ugly bug ball not at all!
opening vocal cords to uplifting poetry
turning up volume came the applause

Cheering Oldknow crowd while clapping nonstop
they shouted and lifted their glasses
Stockport you have done us proud!

Dorinda keep faith and don't panic

The list you have seen is the first list of poets that was printed and since then I was told you were being added on
along with another poet not in our group.

We have a meeting on the Monday night for W O L just before the event on the Wednesday and I am sure this new list will be confirmed on the night!

I think a new list is coming out and your name has been added - - - there will be twelve poets on the open mic night
in Marple instead of ten but to confirm this is the e-mail address!

Hi everyone! Nicola very kindly offered me her 'slot' at Marple (if my work was accepted). I sent 3 samples of my work on 27 July, and e-mailed again today to see if they were happy with what I'd sent. The e-mail came back "cannot connect etc etc" so I am wondering if either of my messages got through! Nicola, you very kindly gave me the address: a.barlow@matthewjamespublishing - should there have been a dot.uk or dot.com at the end??? Any help anyone can give would be very much appreciated! - thanks, Dorinda.not so hi-tech.help!!! X

I send more apologies! I cannot make WOL this evening; arrived back from France yesterday, still catching up after 3 weeks away - as a result, shattered (but happy!)
Just to let you know, also, that my friend Christine is still quite poorly: unsure when she may be back at WOL with us...
Have a great evening - I really do hope to make the next session!

Also, to let you know that my friend Christine won't be there either - she has to have a major operation on Wednesday (if you're believers, please say a prayer for her!)
Thanks so much - love, Dorinda x

There will be no meeting next Monday due to the train strike!

Next meet up for March will be the 20th that gives us another week for the theme of Internationalism/globalism
as we might be doing something for International Poetry Day!

If there is another train strike we might not!

Happy New Year to everyone.

Nigel, I love "Peace".

I struggled with this month's theme "Hangover", but I'm looking forward to hear everyone else's interpretations tonight.

Jenny is braving it and coming back for another session, so we must have done something right last time!

Hi Everybody
I am probably being a bit dim here but never really realised that this facility existed and therefore have never accessed it before. Anyway following on suggestions from last month I am just putting up details of 'under the fable'
This is an open mike night at the castle pub ,66 Oldham street Manchester on the 18th August and 21st September . I attended and read last year and are going to do so again on the 21st September. The second date has been added because they ran out of slots for the first night. Therefore I will attend both nights but reading on the 21st because I was too late for the 18th. Should prove to be interesting nights and worth attending.
Cheers
Martin

Nigel, I think I'll throw my pen away!

I love the perversity of having someone else's eyes! I hadn't taken the homework theme that literally. Excellent work.

I think I'd better sit silently in the corner again, at our next WOL meeting though!

I cant wait to hear what the others have come up with.
