Can't make Liver this month. I'm looking for somewhere quiet and out of the way to practise my pieces - somewhere with no scousers in sight!
I can't speak for Dave - the only thing we share is a car - when I venture into Mordor...

There isn't intentionally a lot running below the surface in it. Cynthia's comment is actually spot on but every single comment is appreciated and helps me to fix anything that might need some alteration for greater impact and understanding. Sometimes it's nice just to write about nature :-)

Hi Isobel, thanks for your comment on my recent poem. Much appreciated. I agree, freedom is in disorder as much as it is in order - often much more so, in fact. Perhaps the images I choose were too precise. I just took the word Freedom and thought what it meant to me - and where I felt most free.

Hi Isobel;

easier answering you on here instead of the forum over editing.. the bit I told you about me giving one of the pieces to other vocalists in my band wordmusic is quite common for us lot as we swap it round a lot, and i have ended up reading other people's pieces before now... it is a great experience..

my new band (word music is on hold for a bit now)is operating on a similar level as it will be more moody and dark! lol x

Thank you so much for your comments you are very kind and just a little whimsical yerself at times... Mmmmm

It seems to me that FREEDOM is a catalyst of circumstance, for example the cigarette crying for freedom is at once set ablaze and is extinguished humiliatingly into the stench of the ash tray who in turn cries out to be set free from its foul labour.

Of course not one of them realising that the cigarette smoker desires to cease his or hers odorous habit and be set free ….and so on.

Could I just make it clear that Francine does indeed look like her extremely close up picture on WOL. Having had the pleasure of her company over the summer, I can assure you that she is as full bodied as the several glasses of merlot we consumed - and I don't mean she is fat either...

Sometimes one can be surprised to find that people are just who they say they are. I'm sure that somewhere out there - maybe in the wilds of Wales or France, there is an Ivor Bigun - though it's probably a certainty he's small.

Yes, you are on the rightish track, things are never what they first appear or purport to be.

the exception being 'Strictly'... I've never watched it but admit to once treading in some.

The poem eludes to tears and lonliness.... frustration and helpless despair.... all to that tedious DOO Dee DOO Doo Dacing in the Rain Tune sung by the smiling and beguiling Gene Kelly.... must have been something that I had eaten earlier.

Hi Isobel. So glad you enjoyed Tomboy. I think you're pretty much spot-on on the way you read it. It came out of a chance encounter with a childhood friend on the train few years ago. She recognised me first, then launched into this "guns and roses" recollection which took me aback. She also supplied the "rifle under the bed" line which was so good I felt I had to try and build a poem around it. I do see her as strong, not weak. She was shy and quiet and became a single mother in her teens, but was confident and settled and moving up north - and a grandma!- when I saw her on the train.

Isobel, Many thanks for your comments. I really appreciate your constructive criticism - it's what I joined for! I do like to try to go for a formal structure from time to time for the challenge but I absolutley agree with you. It's not always right for the feel of the words. This is quite an old poem - I am working on a couple of formal pieces at the moment. Looking forward to seeing you soon. x

Yes It seems poor Banksy is afraid of your lashing sting, I know you to be a ‘pussy’ cat. The eroticism within the poem was present and developed within the ‘Episode’ and ‘episodes thereafter that took place; the fact that the victim is aroused is as you quite correctly point out is due to sexual immaturity and the awakening confusion within a girl approaching puberty. The outcome however is that sexual contact during these early years act as a catalyst and shape the future patterns of sexual awareness and behaviour within in the victim.
