Hello there. Just wanted to thank you for your whole hearted support of WOLOP - I keep coming across little comments you have left and it all helps. I sometimes wonder if it might be more successful spear headed by someone less controversial.... Perhaps you could take it over one day if it doesn't keel over and die this month - not that I'm trying to divest at all - there isn't much admin to it - I would just like it to be successful. Food for thought anyway.

Thanks for your comments on 'that' poem. It is one that I will never perform - but it served its purpose at the time. Thanks for organising the Busking for Beer - I really enjoyed all the venues I was able to get along to. I guess you will be relieved to relax now and start writing more. I'll look forward to reading it. See yous around. xx

Thanks so much for your comment on "A Day in the Life". And am flattered by your suggestion to have it as commentary to a film clip.
I hope you have no need to work away these days.

Hey Jeff, thanks for that comment om Pearl Stitch, really appreciated. I have written what I hope is a performance piece, which I am going to blog this time ( next one I will keep under wraps until I get the chance to perform it.) Would love you to have a look and tell me what you think.

'Dear John' ( I love that - reminds me of that programme of the agony uncle).

Thanks for responding, and thank you for the inspiration. I enjoy a little sparring on comments, did think your comment was a little 'philistine' though at the time, none of it was meant to be personal, but the written language can be misinterpreted many times. I didn't think you would take offence as you have been quite vocal on the discussion threads, and at the same time as responding to the comment I had inputted into your poem on the poetry review 'there's a heart somewhere....' ( sorry cut and paste was beyond me there, and I didn't have the time to write it out. I teach English, creative writing and asylum seekers and refugees, not ICT :-) I was quite shocked to be reprimanded for bad language and told I was negative in my comments of your poetry, ( which I haven't been, I gave you praise, for your poem that you put up on the review).

If I ever publish ( one can dream - I will thank you for the inspiration in print ). I've only been writing again since August after a 17 year break, but I can take a little criticism. By the new hoo-ha, I think someone has took my defensive place - I shall watch and read. I am quite impulsive, but I don't think I shall put my oversized size 5 in the big pile of dogpoop ( how ladylike of me) this time.

Great to hear from you. Appreciate your comments. Ps. Did you like the poem?

Take care, nicky :-) x

Dear Nicky, Thanks for your message the other day. Sorry I've not replied sooner...or in verse! : )I do think you were a bit quick off the mark though when you replied so robustly to my dislike of opaque gobbledy gook. I am a great fan of the skilfully crafted metaphor and similie, I abhor the platitudinous use of cliche and delight in euphonious assonance and articulate intonation...I don't even mind having to 'work' at understanding a poem...I am quite happy to do so if it fulfills any of the criteria above. What I can't be arsed to do is work out what someone's lumpen dissonance and cliched claptrap is trying to communicate or capture. If something is badly written then it sure as hell needs to be funny for me to give it the time of day. What I can't understand is why my opinions make you want to jump to defend the sensitivities of others? No matter. Here's to some more robust jousting in the future and thanks for the poem...I will treasure it. : )Jx

PS. I love the poem!

I myself, Steve, have apologised for the fact that, nowadays, some of my blog-poems may be old-hat for long-term members, such as yourself. Also, for what it's worth, I try to be topical, in terms of current affairs, with some of my "daily ditties."

Also agree with your response to Tony, but daren't add a comment in case I put my oversized size 5 directly in a big pile of dogpoop!:-) Didn't think that we posted poems for just for praise, I know I don't, I enjoy the criticism and not everybody likes the same flavours, although it is nice when we do get it right.

Thanks again Cate.

Hi Freda. Thanks for your comments on loco-emotion and re spellings etc. What most folk do on this website (when they have figured it out) is... if someome leave a coment on one of your poems just click on their name and it will take you to their profile then you can leave a message there. You are right that some leave a comment on the poem itself but most of these will be missed. Win x

Nicky, going back briefly to Falling Stars, I finally have decided to say something reference your much-appreciated comment. The final stanza wasn't a return to a belief/faith system on the narrator's part; it was a realization that any belief system of someone else must be respected, and never belittled. Thoughtlessness is no excuse, ever.
