In this day in age, a dream of being published can be accomplished much easier than before. CreateSpace is a platform for self-publishing, and I have done 2 books on there so far. Anything published on it is automatically put for sale on Amazon.com and the CreateSpace website. However you choose to do it, I'm sure you'll do great. WOL is a great place to showcase some work for feedback. Good luck on your journey, and your sample is a powerful example of simple words exemplifying power beyond their lines.?

Dear HM - I was intrigued by the displayed title of your latest poem
- "Honey Testes" in the context of the content, bearing in
mind that "testes" is an alternative word for the male testicles.
Just checking.
Sincerely,
MC

I used to write in note books by hand.
now I use the computer exclusively.
it is easier and faster and you can see the form of the poem as it takes shape.
by the way, in my youth,
I used to use Hammer & Chisel.

It was slow but
at least it was permanent!

Hi, thanks for commenting "Geneva Airport" and telling your customs story. I have a similar tale: travelling across France in the last great heatwave (2005?), at a time when "Europe" meant that customs controls were no longer at the border, but instead they could stop you anywhere in the country. At a service station they stopped us in our clapped-out soft-top English Ford, me in full festival-hippy gear, my boyfriend (long hair, dark-skinned and bearded) bare-chested in shorts, and basically told us they WOULD find the drugs. They then set the dog to search the car ("find!" "find the drugs"! "go on boy!") before eventually leaving us alone. When we got back in the car we found it was full of dog hairs: I distinctly remember my boyfriend's parting sotto voce comment "next time you bring your dog, shave him first!"

Taylor, I only want to give you a special thanks for your comment on "waters".

We all have special memories that we hold dear, but those related to our roots are immutable and almost archetypal in their nature--I was very moved by you sharing yours.

I just wanted to say that it didn't pass unnoticed...

Thanks for your comments on Painter's Paradox Ray. It's about human nature, and the way that the nature of others can be corrupted by others, and conversely how being with others can create something bigger than the whole . Really appreciate you taking the time to read it.?

G'day John,
I've bought and read your Kindle chapbook 'A Waste of Time' and do not consider it so... I enjoyed it!
Especially the more personal poems like 'Children' or the 'Photograph'; the very sad 'Words that I forget' and 'Rainy September'.
Unfortunately I no longer buy books but only Kindle versions because my house is FULL! So although I would like to have purchased it, apparently 'Shadows and Dust' is only available to read on Amazon's app - which I don't want.
You are a favourite so I shall keep an eye out for more on WOL.

UPDATE: I'm happy to report I now have the e-book 'Shadows and Dust' and will dive in and enjoy!

Re your water poem I saw two levels. The literal one of water flowing down to it's home the sea. The second, of us flowing through life, buffeted by rills and rocks, looking for 'home' ?
