Hi Rachel. Yes it most probably is the file size. It should really flash or something and say "too big Too big" but it doesn't and just goes off and sulks. I have noticed that sometimes it takes a while to change if you change a picture however. Easy to resize by opening a pic in paint and pressing 'image' and resize. Or as you say alternatively get a teenager to do it! lol. good luck Win. If you have no joy please ask again

Hi Jane,
thanks for reading my poems.
You know what? I really hadn't thought to recite the Neptune meets Venus poem in the bath but wow! What a sensation that presented!!
Thankyou. :-)

Hi Sheridan... This creative process you describe sounds very familiar. Just like mine actually although I surprised myself when I went to a writting workshop and was able to write thing to order which were not too bad. so its worth a stab. Look forward to seeing more of your stuff on here. Winston

PS. I've edited it slightly, tightened it up a little I think. Thanks for your kind comments...it made me look at it again and aim for even more of a tight rhyme scheme.
By spooky co-incidence, I have fished in Masvingo, for tigerfish. Caught fuck all....but I did have an English teacher (from Sheffield) who played the guitar and smoked rollies.

Thank you for your pithy...and entirely appropriate comment upon my latest offering. You don't know exactly why it is so appropriate, but, suffice to say that, due to recent 'surgery' I have a six inch scar....just where the sun don't shine!
Following my first foray into swimming...today...I do indeed, have an exceedingly tight arse.
They tell me it should loosen up soon!!

Hi Rachel, thanl you for your comments on Cosmic Fairy. glad you like it. its happy, unlike my other work. a bit better for the festive season.
I love your work too. and am particulary struck by your piece "dad" - brilliant, striking and very sad and touching. Wonderful similies and metaphores in there too, they build up such a strong image of the dad. well done. take care and have a great christmas!

Thomas, your Bio is considered and honest, sharing with us those things about you that really matter. Second paragraph - ace!
And with your posted poems I so appreciate your care with common spelling and grammar, just editting in general. Comments are more relaxed, of course, and prone to hasty mistakes - no biggee. By the way, Ann's advice about spaced blogs is absolutely right - great for you to have a friend on board already. And she came on to WOL like a tornado, too.

Hi Andy... Thank you for your comments on Decree Absolute. well done for spotting that is is particularlly bitter and certainly barbed. Thats certainly what I intended from the person who is the subject in this poem. On a broader note, your comments regarding 2 sides to every story are certainly true.and I am sure another piece could be written from the other side. In these matters both sides are victims to some extent. With respect, perhaps you are making a mistake here and superimposing the words of this piece onto a real life situation. It does not relate to any particular person or circumstance in my life. It is of course the beauty of writting that gives the poet with imagination the freedom and right to explore imagined situations. Win

Hi Cate
It was great to meet you last week, along with the rest of the clan.
Gaudete is very much a favourite of mine, and you were particularly good.
I loved the comment you left with the photo of me by myself, when you refer to the fog. I think the photo was taken in the fog. Even I'm not sure whether it's me. Perhaps I look better from a distance.
Even with Isobel, there's only one person worth looking at (and it's not me). Why do I always look like a dribbling idiot? Rhetorical question.
I thought Isobel's reading of my poem was terrific. Just wish I could have listened to it myself, but I go a bit blank when I get on a stage.
Hope to see you again soon
xx Steve xx

Just to say I found your poems today and liked them a lot . I assume that the hands Fassbinder is asking about must be your hands which now resemble your dead fathers hands. I have my fathers hands too. This is my assumption anyway!

Hi Thomas - your poems are very good. I know I encouraged you to post some bloggs, but they would get more attention if you maybe put one up a day rather than several all at a time. I have found that if people see a stream of them together, they might not read them all properly, and some people even seem to almost resent seeing several bloggs in a row. As I feel I encouraged you in the first place, I don't want your poetry (which really is a lovely addition to this sight) to sink without trace all in one go. I know I'm sounding like your old mum giving you advice but I would actually delete them except the first one or two, then pop them back up individually over the days to come. But do tell me to but out if you like! lol AF x

Hello Thomas, welcome to WOL. If this is a taste of what is to come, we're in for a treat. Your words are very well chosen.
If you'd like some initial criticism, I would punctuate your lines to give them more emphasis, so that we can read them as you do.
It helps this too if a poet doesn't start each line with a capital letter, although many poets do not think this important. It's up to you.

Hi Thomas - welcome to WOL. I think we all (unless we're super-bigheaded, not many poets like that surely!) have doubts re quality control! But I really think that if Pull Apart The Perfect Nest is the sound of your voice, then you are a poet! It's very good and very moving. And it's very original the way you've used images from nature, with moss and twigs and feathers, to describe this sad tearing apart of two people and their home and their hopes for the future.
I find that if you want some feedback, people usually read the blogg poems. Hopefully many also read the profiles, but there are so many poets on the site that you could get missed. So don't be shy, blogg away!

Hi Isobella, yes I enjoyed MCing at Wigan for the most part ... though I did sense there was some sniping in the wings, a little coldness of heart and meanness of spirit, which left me feeling saddened towards the end. Hope you are feeling better soon! You're welcome at the Bards anytime. PS someone told me Darren had put up a review but I never got to see it, as it was, as you say, taken down quite quickly.
Just why it was removed so quickly, I don't know. Though I could hazard a theory!

Hi Steve. Thought you did a great job at the Tudor last week. Darren did a lovely review in blog format but for some reason removed it quite quickly so you probably never got to read it.
Hope to see you soon - not sure if I can make the Bards - no-one to go with and a bit under the weather at the moment.

Hi Emma - thanks for printing your poem - it will do there. For future reference, all you have to do is go back to your original blogged poem, edit it and put WOLOP.nov or whatever month we are on, in the tag section, then press update. Your poem was nominated by another poet - I just collect the emails from people and publish the results - it was a good poem though. Hopefully you may like to get involved on the voting side next month - I am trying to drum up support. All you have to do is let me know your favourite December poem by 6th Jan. My email is farmoorgirl@yahoo.co.uk. I will send a reminder out on blogs beforehand though. Merry Christmas. x

Hi Stephen,
found you at last. Been on and off this site for about 19 months and only just realized there's a facility to search poets. Dumb aren't i !
Thanks for your further comment on Quercus Robur and your suggestion which i'll consider.
Been reading your entries here. Death of a leader i found to be quite 'shocking'.
You are a very eloquent writer.
Love the imagery and scents in the last blog post. It reminds me of an advert on tv. A black cloaked mysterious lady like a Turkish Delight.
I could sense the need and wanting to believe your eyes and the urge to seek her again.
Super.
