Hi Anthony - Got that Billy Ramsell book through in the post from Amazon... My brother has nicked it off me until my birthday soon, so I'll let you know what I think then (but am looking forward to it)

Good Morning Cynthia
Thank you so much for comment regarding To FarTed It was undertaken as an excercise to enable me to write sensible structure about a subject that was faintly light and frothy... to ward off writers block mmmm.
Take up the pen and write about the first thing you see, taste smell ...or hear...A good excerciae.
Once again many thanks
Gusxx

Hola Andy! Thank you for your generous comment on Cutting and Serving. The piece appeared, as is, when I was working on something else. It was almost hallucinogenic -- I could (unnervingly) see it! Love your Cleopatra piece especially -- eyelashes as oars is brilliant!

Dearest Isobel
How lovely you are, how sweet and endearing to confess to being targeted by my Phartesque - ( A description for the high blown or windy tales of intrepid endeavour)
To mess with your mind and convince you that there was indeed a subliminal and subtle message would be demanding just a little from both your razor sharp repartee and feminine intuition.. No, I am overjoyed that you rollick and roll so as to speak to my good old ‘Toilet Humour’, toilet humour at its best no less what an accolade.
I thank you as always, lovely legs.
Hope to see you soon.
Gusxxx

dramatic piece 'Is it not enough...'
Re: Your poem 'The Secret Life of Woods'
Beautiful, and the comparison in the last verse is what made it so special.

Cynthia, thanks for taking the time again to read another one of my works. "Absolution" is very symbolic and that's why it's hard "to get". Each reference has to do with someone in my family. It was very cathartic to write...just like so much poetry is! I very much appreciate your comments.
Thanks again,
Lisa

Thanks for commenting on Rock. Actually it didn't have anything to do with the painting Win. I was trying to put another photo on but it wouldn't obey! So as I love this one I put it on. I had just been sitting on my favourite rock on the beach and the texture of it inspired me. And I was trying to use the feelings of strength and happiness of moments like that, and the memory of them, to get through the bad bits. And to know the bad bits of life are the less important bits! ;-)

I love univocalisms. There's something about that 'one vowel' restriction which leads to the poem veering off in weird directions. Tom O'Connor defending Gordon Brown from a baying mob is such a good image...

Hi Isobel, we've enabled more commenting than ever on the April issue, but it was always our intention to try and limit immediate comment and take on board more letters and emails, which is more in keeping with a magazine format.

Hi Cynthia... let me try and elucidate - You know the feeling you get as a small child (Holding the hand of a parent) in a busy street maybe when everything is happening all around you in bigger / busier world you dont understand. You are just been guided along. Then for some reason you loose this contact. Everything suddenly gets turned up a notch and the child feels apart from not just the parent but from the whole world. the feeling in the poem is the same. You are in another world with all its rules and laws but can't connect, deafened and overwhelmed by its beauty and how it all works. Hope this rather waffling explanation helps. win x

I think it is dreadful that you should keep disabling comments on features. As editor in chief you should take responsibility for it. How can I write nasty things about you, otherwise?

Hi Ann, it was an experiment. The picture is a self portrait by a friend and I stared at it for a while and wrote 'portrait' so it is purely about what the image said to me rather than the person in the painting. He is painting something inspired by one of my poems, so it will probably be a big miserable mess :-) thanks for your interest!
John

Mr Owen, I have revised extensively. Since you were so kind to 'criticise' before, would you take a quick peek to see if I have improved it? Or not? A simple yes or no will suffice. I do not wish to be a nuisance.
