Thank you dear Lynn for the comment on "Her Name Was Love". I respect and value your comments. They really help me and inspire. Every time I reread my poem I make some changes. I think today I made about 20 corrections in this poem. When nobody writes the comments I lose interest to this or other poem and don't look at it anymore. I think it happens with everyone. So, I would like to tell you once more: Thank you so much! With love and warmest wishes, Larisa

They cut into the hill
Like detectives chasing down
A cold blooded killer
On the run

Thrusting into bush and tree
Across moonlight before the wind
At the furthest edge
Of a deserted train station

They cut into the past with a dagger
Across the evening colours of the sky,
Reddening with light

Warning all to run away

Pictures of their bombs still scar my memory

Even though

I wasn’t there

It seem my 'pink and pretties' are getting as much comment as my poetry which really wasn't the objective, however don't let that stop you... wash day is Mondays.Thank you so much for your comments and for taking the time to read.

Hi Cate, yep, I realised you realised (this is sounding funny, isn't it?) it was Middle English but I did a bad explanation of why I used it! There are connections and connotations that seem to have been weakened over the years but the power of the original (aided by the spelling) seems somehow as vivid. Thank you again xx

Hello Cate, thank you so very much for your comment and for staying with the poem. I decided to use Middle English phrases with contemporary English in an attempt to capture the connection the language used to have with mystery, otherness. And I really like your Biting the Bullet piece, too -- it is powerfully musical and haunting. Moxy xx

Thank you so much for your well meant Mmmmm...and implied 'Bang'

yes I must admit to owning succulent lips... however the image is sadly not mine but having said that they are not my first choice of colour...it would play havoc with my high lights.

Thanks for the extra interest, Win. Glad you told me, since my email doesn't direct me to the source anymore. 'the little leaf' has since been revised a bit, (not yet posted) to be more directive. How egotistic is it, that I come back to my own work and think, 'I like that' as though I had never written it at all. This is a big confession!
