Thanks for your comments on Colours, Isobel. It does feel like a lifetime, but I'd like to think we have one more colour change in us to come!

Didn't see the station. Really enjoyed that weekend though - even though there were some things I'd like to see done differently next time. Had awful come down after it - wish there was another one planned already - to look forward to.

So you do! Ignore it and it'll probably go away. Just be careful sitting down. Or in high winds.

Hello Cynthia, nice to hear from you. I don't have a name for this structure (or even know if there is one) as it was really inspired by music strangely. Also my first poem inspired by a dream. I admit it really is a leap of faith to both write and read. Definitely out of MY comfort zone. Regards, Graham

I would like to 'read aloud' on here also, but I haven't done any exploring of 'how to'. That's all; I need to get more selfish with my time. But I do enjoy reading other poets' works. So I get hung up and lose precious minutes of my 'allotted' time on Net.

Thanks for commenting on 'Madness.'
I'm particularly glad you think it raises questions. I'm attempting to allow readers their own thoughts and reach some kind of conclusions for themselves and with an open mind :-)

Hi Ann,
Thanks for reading and commenting on 'Miles of Space Between Us' - I loved your interpretation of it. I hadn't thought of it as being about separation from my children, but when I re-read it myself in that light it made perfect sense, and could actually apply equally to many people in my life - both now and in the past. Particularly as I get older, I feel I want to hang on to the people I love a bit more - you lose people for all sorts of reasons and in all sorts of ways - and some of them leave huge holes in your life that are just not adequately filled by the cat.
Anyway - having said all that - I've actually removed the poem, but your input has been much appreciated.

Ps - the cat hates being hugged too

Hi Cynthia,
Thanks very much for reading and commenting on 'Miles of Space Between Us' - I know what you mean about the helplessness of bridging the gap ... very much the reason behind the poem. Your comments are always much appreciated, though I have now removed that poem.

Haven't got a clue how to set up my own blog Carole. You aren't the first person to suggest I should write short stories though. I'm not sure if I could give much attention to a personal blog though - what I love about WOL is the community feel - the camaraderie, the banter, the feedback. Would that be diluted if I started posting elsewhere - I'm not sure. I'll have to do some research on where people blog and what they get out of it. Maybe that's something I'll think about in the New Year. Hope to see you around before then.

Thank you for the comment Lynn. Its got some weak spots but it reminds me of the dreams that make us keep on searching.
I do agree with your political comments. I like the one about the news standing still. It happened again with the Royal Engagement.

Thanks Carole - you are probably right. I dug some out that I'd written in my 20s the other day and they weren't bad - the ideas at any rate. My problem is time - poems are more immediate and I'm lazy - and then it's not so easy to publish them anywhere. All excuses for not getting my finger out. I'll give it some thought. x

How did you guess! Do you think the painting is HB? I found the image ages ago and copied it onto my computer, but I never took a note of where it was or who the artist was. But now I've been there, it does look just like it. xx
