Coronavirus scare

I was insructed to drive to the hospital on my own,

My throat was sore my tonsils had grown.

I was informed to arrive at the hospital wearing a mask.

On the car park a nurse was waiting to perform her task.

Faced by her rubber gloves and her disposable attire,

My body was in full sweat and on fire.

My temperature and blood pressure were taken through the window of my car,

Everything she said was running smoothily so far.

I was at the hospital for two and a half hours,

Thinking about my grave and its flowers.

My holiday in Italy had come to an end,

The results of the test to my home she would send.

In self isolation at home suffering stress,

A call from the nurse, thank God,I was clear of the mess.

Always good to get the "all clear" - whatever the problem.
Been to Italy...way back and have some
lasting memories of the country and the people.. They don't deserve their situation but they will face it with their usual resilience.
