Cedar Trees

The Cedar tree grows full and green

in winter the only color to be seen

yet there are those opposed to these

blamed for their rash of allergies

They fault the tree and its small seeds

and for the pollen said released

yet its only doing what any tree

does to survive, quite naturally

But oh the teary eyes one sees

the cough, the wheeze, the sudden sneeze

attributed to seeds blown in the breeze

responsible,  those Cedar trees

Still these trees in robust green

provide a warmth to wintry scenes

in bleak December, share greenery

like Christmas gifts, these Cedar Trees.

There is a road in my town called Cedar Avenue. There are no cedar trees in it, or ever have been.

Who doesn't love cedar trees but oh for the sufferings its pollens bring! I am allergic too. Nice poem, d.k!
