An Afternoon Storm

An Afternoon Storm

Created in hell the wind beats against all in its path

Rain lashes against window panes

It pelts its fury on roofs and chimneys

Animals fearful seek shelter

Foliage bears the brunt of this onslaught

Branches sway buffeted by sudden gusts

The sky darknes as afternoon becomes night

Litter is scattered in its wake

Traffic is reduced to a laborious crawl

As windscreen wipers flag beneath wind and water

Umberellas are blown inside out

Hats take off to be followed by frenetic owners

Puddles soon become mini lakes

Rivers burst their banks

Fields are flooded and deluged with silt

Cows stand clustered together in a field

People make haste for home, warmth and comfort

It has to be seen out, only time does this

Nature's violent interlude interrupts all life

The wind howls its powerful voice

Be warned it is a mighty force

Nice one yet again Keith. One can really sense the havoc a bad storm causes, and the animal instinct to make for home and safety.
