My Dad Said 3
'Cynthia, Honey,
Life is not all tea and roses.
Sometimes, it's slops and skunk cabbage.'
And Mum would add a line,
'Deal with it.'

My dad said
"you must believe the Bible son"........
To which my mum would blindly nod......
But it doesn't make sense?......
He was a preacher.......
And I was at university......
Question everything they taught me......
No wonder I get into so much strife......
I should just conform......
Then everyone would be happy.....
(except me).......
I like the way the messages balance each other. Colorful yet unforgiving.

Not keen on slops but that skunk cabbage sounds absolutely yummy!
He had a colourful way of making a point, my Dad did. Mum went straight for the jugular.

Brief and sharply observed - thanks.
As with the content
As with Mum and Dad
Life's about facing facts
And meeting good and bad!
