Passion employed

boy's wisdom scant

so much they lacked

in common sense

 

Promises pronounced

that were not kept

young daughters cried

poor mothers wept

 

Who is to say

they'd ere repent

as sins compiled

contrition went

 

Compassion was

not ever meant

yet one day they'll rue

the life so spent.
