Solid Ground

Let us be trees

with solid roots

planted in solid ground

and with each year

a place of growth

and continual maturity

spread limbs and grow

make seeds and bear

more shoots will spring

and soon

there is a forest

of strength

a permanence of kith and kin

all raised up on solid ground.
