Park bench contemplation

There are all types

I thought

Canvassing the comings and goings

Of the disorganized crowd

From the park bench

The slow walkers looking straight forward

The effervescent teenagers

The dogs walking their masters

The deep thinkers looking straight downward

The oblivious young couples

The screaming toddlers

The bird watchers looking straight upward

The aged loners

On and on they come and go

Through my life window

Then I realized

I sit at the edge of the empty bench

As if unconsciously

Very wonderful to read and think about. It makes me feel the writer has been one of those passerbyes and wants to again join in. Thank you for sharing.

I enjoyed what seems to be implied, that the poet is somewhat on the outside looking in but would like to be accepted. On an observational level that can always be a danger.
