Seven of Swords – The Thief – Stealth, deception, unexpected behaviour

Interpretation: This card indicates taking something that belongs to another. This card is a betrayal card and a betrayal done very slyly and very deviously. To sneak away like a thief in the night is a less than honourable action. This card indicates that others may be trying to deceive the seeker and may be taking advantage of them. You may be feeling indecisive or distracted and someone is trying to turn that situation to their own benefit. This is not a tie for sitting on the fence as your plans are not working out for you. You may need to find some clarity and take control of the situation yourself.

This card may also indicate that you need to escape or to run away from something you don’t really want to face. You may be feeling cheated or may be feeling uneasy about something that you or someone else has done. This card tell you that you should avoid self-defeating behaviour and warns you that you may become your own worst enemy. You may be trying to sneak off to start a new life but you are not being honest with yourself and with others. You need to look at what you are doing and what you are leaving being and also why it is you are behaving in such a manner.

Reversed: If you have been wronged, robbed or deceived you can expect something back or return of you your goods in some way or another. Perhaps you will receive an apology or what has been taken from you may be returned three fold. If you have been receiving criticism then you should take it in the most positive light possible. This card reversed indicates that any deception by the seeker or towards the seeker will come to light and that time of deviousness is over. If you were thinking of being deceitful yourself this card suggest that it will not turn out well for you and that being deceitful is not the best way to go about thing. Perhaps you should step back and look at the situation around you as this card is a warning that something is going on behind your back but you need to be aware of it.
