Children In Vietnam.

        CHILDREN IN VIETNAM.

Children in Vietnam, suffer the most.

Covered in Napalm, burned like toast.

Bullets kill kids, just the same.

Both armies bow their heads in shame.

No school today, it’s been blown away.

No house either, no where to stay.

No time to play, only to work.                                                                                                                            A bowl of rice is their only perk.

Father has gone far away.

The VC told him, he could not stay.

The children in Saigon.

Walk the streets, with no shoes on.

Selling postcards and gum at night.

Sometimes until daylight.

Some young girls go on the game.

Just to make money, what a shame.

Young boys shine shoes, in a bar.

Some sell beer by the can, mostly Ba Ba.

A bundle of rags on the sidewalk.

It starts to move, it starts to talk.

Riding a water Buffalo, in a rice field.

Americans are here, it’s now a mine field.

GI’s shoot the animals, just for fun.

In their helicopters, from the door gun.

The children are very sad.

It makes the Paddy Daddy really mad.

They have no parents and no pet.

How bad can things get?

Some children have nothing and no one.

So it’s no surprise, they turn to the gun.

Children from that time, are grown up now.

Still affected by the war, and how.

Their babies are deformed and limbless.

From defoliant spray, what a mess.

Many have died and still dying from cancer.

They look to the Americans, for an answer.

Today the Americans are back in Vietnam.

Building bridges, and a vacination treatment program.

Today, all the children go to school everyday.

Still work on the streets, to earn some pay.
