Playful Shoelace Ha Ha Ha

entry picture

PLAYFUL SHOELACE HA HA HA

I have a little shoelace

The other end of me

It's got a mind all of its own

But that's just how it be

I tie it up each morning

As tight as tight can be

But then it grabs the jolly knot

And pulls the whole thing free

I hear it laughing ha ha ha

Come tie me up again

I curse and swear beneath my breath

Count silently to ten

No way you're gonna trip me up,

You naughty little lace

I've got something in my box

To put you in your place

I told you just don't do it

Don't do it anymore

I don't like being tripped up

And landed on the floor

He tripped me up again ha ha

And sent me for a ripper

I took my in-place-putter out

Replaced him with a slipper

I hear him whimper in my box

Crying lace-like tears

But tripping up nice people's a

Bad model for your peers

Thankyou all enjoying this. As you can see I wrote it two years ago and each time I read it it puts a smile on my face.

MC - Spike and I went to the same College of Silliness. He was a few years ahead of me so we didn't cross paths. I only achieved a Grade 3 Pass whereas he came top of the College (being in a higher level of Silliness). We did however share one thing in common - we were both bipolars. Funny how BPD strikes down the most creative. Such a pity.....

Mae - Rhyme and rhythm
Bounce along
All enjoy
My sweet song

DoRoThY - OK, I do have a very weird sense of humour (which is why I get so many blank looks) - but I'm glad you like it ?

Ray - yes, much thought went into it. My mind went down this winding track and I followed to see where it went (carrying pen at the ready). I smiled all the way. I still do when I retrace that path of 2 years ago......

Jason - Do you happen to know any shoelace publishers?......

Other Likers - Thankyou for clicking the button - post reading ........

With some illustration, that could be a childrens book. Brilliant, absolutely love it.

An enjoyable rib tickler Don. Much thought gone into it - none wasted!

Shades of Spike Milligan - great fun, again with a nod to something
many of us must have experienced over the years. Now, of course...

Having grown older (as we well know!)
We've turned instead to Velcro!! ?.
