Room for Regret

I used to think...

"I really should"

"If only I could"

"If only I would"

I used to wish...

she liked me more

I wasn't poor

I was more hard core

I used to dream...

that I could win

hang with the crowd that was in

and of course

be strong and thin

but all I dreamed

and wished and thought

filled the room but couldn't be bought

they left no air to be breathed

with regret I stewed and seethed

Now I know a better trick

to heal myself and not be sick

be grateful for the smallest gift

gratitude the spirits lift

be thankful for every friend

for thankfulness the spirit mends

with the love and blessings

that you get

there will be no more room

for regret.

Thank you all for reading and commenting. I wrote this for a friend but certainly helpful for me as well as a reminder. I regret still not having more time on this site. Been so wonderful getting to read all your work.

Truth is...I'm only working on it. Tricks like everything else take practice
