Are You Happy With Your Poem?

Are you happy with your poem

Does it reach your mark

Is it up to expectations

Is it too light, dark?

Do you need to sleep on it

Ponder 'bout a line

Do you think it's good enough

Or needing some refine?

A thought then suddenly springs to mind

Will this poem hurt

You didn't mean to write this in

Will readers you desert?

Then there is the conflict

Who are you writing for

Yourself or for your readers

Which pull is pulling more?

So are you happy with your poem?

It always can be bettered

Your time and effort's better spent

Starting on another......

A poem about poets' poems?

It'll never catch on...

Don,
A poem which asks some interesting questions especially so in the penultimate stanza. I believe that I write primarily for myself and to seek comments. I find poetry cathartic and to some extent I am being self indulgent.

A good poem and thanks

Keith
