'Happy Tuesday' by Lisa C Bassignani is Write Out Loud's Poem of the Week
The new Write Out Loud Poem of the Week is ‘Happy Tuesday’ by Lisa C Bassignani - a lip-smacker of a poem with ingredients that include an “extra-tall margarita”, chips and a “king-size” burrito, as well as “fajitas sizzlling at the next table” and “the aroma of onions”. It’s a poem about a moment – and then the moment is gone. On her Write Out Loud profile page Lisa says she is “an artist of many mediums and styles”. As well as poetry and short stories, “when I am not writing I am engaged in some artistic journey or another. I enjoy painting, crochet, papier mache, decoupage, beading and jewellry making, gardening, cooking, various forms of sculpture and so much more.”
HAPPY TUESDAY
by Lisa C Bassignani
Extra large booth
Extra tall margarita
Chips and salsa
And a king size burrito
Mexican love songs and mariachi music
Piped softly overhead
Smiling faces, laughter
Twinkling lights and colorful flags
A shrine to los muertos
Fajitas sizzlling at the next table
The aroma of onions as loud as the noise
Lost in the ambience
"Will there be anything else?"
The moment gone
I gather my thoughts and my things
Pay the tab and go home
Just another day in the life

Thank You...to Everyone!
It has been an honor having my work chosen for the week. I love all the comments and my bouquet is busting out of the vase! ??.
The support and camaraderie has been wonderful at WOL, not to mention the learning experience. You're a great, talented and interesting bunch.
Keep thinking and writing.
