Cricket World Cup. England vs Australia. Sunday England vs NZ. And the Winner Is........

My London office has requested a special report from their foreign correspondent on the current tensions in England.  Please direct any questions or complaints to my office.

This poem that I'm writing

I do not write by choice

A WOLer who's high up the chain

Has challenged me by voice

(email actually....)

The challenge that I'm faced with

Has put me in great pain

I hope it's not repeated

When Ashes comes again

What pain is it I'm talking 'bout'

'Head WOLer' put me in?

The meany pressed my button-pain

(I think he meant to do it...)

Cricket Aus got slaughtered

(See why I am so pained?)

Redesigning our express train

To smash an Ashes gain

Do not let your slaughter-win

It to your heads let go

Do not get overconfident

Us Aussies won't lie low

There's a problem in UK which need fixing

A problem eating away at the sport

Only 7% of primary schoolchildren

Play cricket with Chance to Shine support

At secondary school level the situation

The situation becomes even worse

Which has a bad knock-on result and

A lack of adults to coerce

On Sunday New Zealand plays England

To decide the winner of the World Cup

England's worked hard to get this far

I hope they do win – with no cock-up

As for the final... the famous words of the Duke of Wellington come to mind when he defeated Napoleon at Waterloo - "the nearest run thing you ever saw in your life!"

Don, the WOL chain is a very short one and I am the weakest link!

Nobody is favourite
NZ can win
England can win
Rain can also win
